Tōtara Springs is the largest centre of its kind in New Zealand and is the ultimate venue for church retreats, school camps, sports activities, business conferences, artistic events, holiday camps and family reunions.  We are situated in a beautiful setting, nestled at the foot of the Kaimai mountain ranges in Matamata. There are 90 acres of park-like grounds and native bush with streams, walks and bush trails. We have a large indoor sports and activity centre and breakaway areas, as well as a large hot pool fed by natural springs.  We have guests of all ages who travel from afar to enjoy our beautiful setting and outstanding hospitality.

About the role:

About the role: This is a full-time position as part of the Ministry team at Tōtara Springs. You'll play a vital role in developing and leading our Kids, JKids, Family, and Easter camp programmes that create life-changing experiences and share God's love with our guests.

About you:

You are passionate about empowering and leading others in ministry and have a heart for serving youth and volunteers. You excel at creating engaging, Christ-centered environments and are highly motivated to ensure the smooth operation of events and programmes. You have the following attributes:

  • Hard-working and resilient

  • Inclusive and engaging communicator

  • Proactive problem-solver with strong planning and organisational skills

  • Team player who fosters trust and collaboration

  • Embodies the values and spiritual mission of TSCC

You fulfil the following requirements:

  • Experience leading youth or ministry programmes, including event management and risk assessment

  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and support volunteers (Camp leaders, Camp parents)

  • Knowledge of health and safety standards for events or camping environments

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A qualification in youth leadership, education, or similar is an advantage

  • Commitment to a faith community (Christian Church)
